Jessie Muriel Clinton

Jessie Muriel Clinton, 99, of Signal Mountain passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

 A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Clinton has made her home at Alexian Village since 2008 where she was actively involved in various activities.

She was retired executive secretary with over 50 years of service and was a member or St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.    Mrs. Clinton had also served as a volunteer at Memorial and Parkridge Hospital for a number of years.  She was an avid musician for all of her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Stanley Clinton; and her son, Roy Mason Clinton.

Survivors are her daughter, Emily (Jerry) Clinton Thurston, Signal Mountain; and son, George Stanley (Charlotte) Clinton, Jr. of Tarzana, CA;  daughter-in-law, Vicki Clinton, Connecticut;  6 grandchildren,  Jessica Clinton, Ben (Debbie) Clinton, Shannon (Paul) Barrett, Jeffrey (Robin) Thurston, Lyndsay (Kevin) Botts, and Tyler  (Will) Jeffrey;  6 great-grandchildren, Danielle Taylor, Cassidy Mora, Delaney Thurston, Blair Thurston, Mary Mason Botts, and Hannah Barrett;  3 great-great-grandchildren, Payton, Eli and Archer;  many special nieces & nephews also survive; and her special companion, Buddy the dog.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Margaret Ferguson and Father Derrick Hill officiating.   Following the service there will be a reception at the church.
